Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin made history and became the first man to travel into space on Wednesday, April 12 1961 when he rode the Vostok-I spacecraft on a single orbit. On April 12, 2002, space enthusiasts celebrated this event in cities throughout the world at the 2nd annual Yuri's Night World Space Party. Poyekhali! (Off we go!) That's what cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin exclaimed as he blasted off that day in 1961 and that's the slogan for our Yuri Gagarin (Yuri's Night) printed T-Shirt.
